Shannon Breeze is the child care provider for my daughter. I have known her professionally for nearly a year now, and I could not be happier that she entered into the lives of me and my family. I feel so blessed to have found her.
When I first considered daycare for my daughter, she was 16 months old. I originally entered my daughter into a daycare center. My daughter was terribly unhappy in this setting. She had been home with me one-on-one and then was put in a situation where she had 3 different “teachers” per day. No one could ever tell me how she was feeling or adjusting or even what she ate or did not eat because no one was with her long enough to know. She was herded around all day from room to room, and came into contact with up to 30 children a day. She was sick constantly.
When I called Shannon, I explained my situation to her. She agreed to meet us immediately because she had an opening, and think she could tell that I needed her help. Before I ever met her in person, I immediately knew that I was dealing with a professional. Her website is informative, thorough, well-organized, and pretty. Speaking with her on the phone about my experience and my need to change as soon as possible was a breath of fresh air because in one conversation I was convinced that this person would get to know my child for who she was and love her for it, just as I did. And, that the things that had led both my child and I to tears at the other daycare center, would never, ever be a problem with Shannon.
When I met her in person, I immediately noticed how clean her house was and how kid-friendly and baby-proofed it was. She was welcoming, informative, and professional in person. And, Shannon’s children are wonderful, sweet, and very well-behaved. She showed me that my daughter would have her own place to sleep and her own cup (not so at the other center). She showed us the crafts and toys and playground equipment that she would have to play on (my daughter did not want to leave Shannon’s house J ). She showed us examples of what she would teach my daughter and sample menus. She explained all of her rules and why she has them, and she answered every last question that I asked thoroughly (and I asked a lot of questions).
In one week, Shannon changed my daughter back to who she was, despite the traumatic experience of the other center, from which I thought my daughter may never recover. My daughter did not cry when she was dropped off with Shannon after just three days. At the other center, she cried all day long, every day and clung to the teacher, and would continue to cry if she did not have her pacifier, even after 4 weeks. Under the care of the other facility, my daughter became a very sick, cranky shell of the child that we had known before I started working. She has been sick only once since she started with Shannon, which is a tribute to Shannon’s cleanliness.
Under Shannon’s loving care, my daughter almost immediately went back to the sweet, funny, cute, happy-go-lucky, independent little toddler that she is. I cannot say enough about the immense blessing that Shannon has been to my family. She saved my daughter from a terrible, unhealthy situation, and turned her back into the little girl that she was under my care and daily helps her grow into a happy, well-behaved, educated little person.
Every day, Shannon tells me how my daughter is—what she said, how she played, what they did for crafts, what she ate. If my daughter did anything at all, I know about it. My daughter can paint and color and dances around and tries to sing her ABCs already and she is not even 2. I can tell that her language has increased dramatically since Shannon has been caring for her. Shannon takes photos nearly everyday of the kids and sends them to all the parents in email. Shannon buys gifts for the kids’ birthdays and the holidays and has parties for them; she celebrates with them; she dances with them; she teaches them; she reads to them. I could not ask for or dream up a better place for my daughter to be to grow and learn. I really mean that--myself and my own home included. If you are lucky enough to get the chance to share your life with Shannon and her family, you would be a fool to turn it down.
I have given her many accolades in this letter, but I could not think of someone more deserving. She has the hardest job in the world, and she excels at it daily.
With sincerity,
Colleen F.

My husband and I feel very fortunate that we were able to find Shannon to watch out little one. As first time parents and being new to the area, it was very overwhelming to know where to place our daughter and what was ‘acceptable.’ I was so very scared to take her to a day care center – the large number of kids, the huge amount of germs, the lack of interaction, the poor routine, the restless sleep….it was too much. Choosing to have full time careers is difficult enough without having a constant worry and concern for your child linger in the back of your mind.
Finding Shannon has been so refreshing and such a HUGE relief. She has offered everything we wanted and even things/aspects we didn’t know we wanted. Her house always seems to be cleaned, she’s organized, together, has healthy meals for the kids, does crafts, has circle time, depending on the age has a curriculum that she follows, they have a set schedule, a set nap time….it is awesome. Oh, and she taught Emma sign language….very nice. As a first time mom, she put up with all of my ridiculous questions and concerns and bizarre requests thanks to all the lifetime movies I’ve watched! It’s also been really beneficial as a new parent to have Shannon in our life as there’s actually so many things she’s done with Emma that I didn’t really even think she was able to do yet. I remember picking her up after a craft day and thinking, wow, Emma can paint?
One of the added bonuses of having Shannon is that she takes pictures on a weekly basis and sends them to us. …that really is one of my favorite parts. Being at work/school can feel so defeating when you’re maybe only seeing your child less than 20 hours during the work week and to be able to look at pictures of the activities they’re doing during the week…along with the smiles, really helps assuage some of my underlying guilt.
She really is amazing and we feel very fortunate to have her be able to watch out little girl….please know that you would be just as fortunate.
Best wishes in your search,
Jennifer H.

My children were always fed healthy well-balanced meals, clean when picked up, and in a content manner. Shannon provided them with daily learning activities based on a preschool curriculum, which focused on fine motor skills and cognitive learning. She gave them ample opportunities for outdoor play, which develops the gross motor component. She provided a newsletter, exposed them to weekly theme units and praised them for new accomplishments.
She understands children’s needs and works within their individual boundaries. She is a disciplinarian with her own set of morals and values -- but leaves room for flexibility based on the parent’s wishes.
We have to praise Shannon for the incredible help she gave us during a critical time. She was more than flexible in order to help us with our children during a difficult time. We could not have done it without her.
We give our highest recommendation to Shannon. We could always leave them and we never worried. We felt like they were at a second home.
Sincerely,
Kate and Jim M.

To Whom It May Concern,
This is a letter of recommendation for Lollipop Kids Child Care with care provided by Shannon Breeze. Shannon’s care for our daughter and son has been the best experience we have had with a day care provider. Shannon has been great with our daughter as both an infant and a toddler and our son as an infant. She has nurtured our children and helped us feel comfortable for the first time with having someone else take care of our children. I would highly recommend Shannon as a day care provider. Our daughter has blossomed into a communicative and expressive child while under her care.
We highly recommend Shannon for anyone looking for a safe and comfortable environment for their child. Her personal attention to our daughter and son’s needs and development has been everything we could ever imagine.

I have had the opportunity to know Shannon in a variety of capacities for many years. She has been a great friend and confidant. In addition, while working togeather I was able to experience her professional abilities.
Shannon is intelligent, loving, dedicated and very personable with people of all ages. Something else that I have always admired is the way in which she runs her home. You will find her neat and organized and often times decorated for the seasons or an upcomming holiday.
She would be a tremendous asset to the growth and development of your child and I recommend her to you without reservation.
